Emergency support for Minnesota:

Mental health support for grassroots organizers in the twin cities.

Mind the Movement is offering free mental health support to community organizers and organizations working in Minnesota. As Minnesota is facing an unprecedented time where small organizations are being called on to defend neighborhoods, provide legal support, raise money, organize food drives, protect schools and plan statewide strikes. The workers and organizers whose job it is to have answers and an action step for the community are facing deep harm and trauma, and they don’t get to look the other way.

Here’s how we’re currently able to help:

1. We’re hosting peer support groups facilitated by a licensed mental health practitioner (done virtually).

2. Our case management team is available to help staff find a therapist for one on one care.

3. Funds are available to provide mental health grants to workers who may not have insurance or whose insurance doesn’t cover therapy.

4. We can cover the cost of tribal mental health support.

About Mind the Movement

Mind the Movement was started after the historic 2024 election and the mass firings of federal workers in early 2025. The work is based on a report by our Founder on the state of mental health of campaign staff. The report showed conclusively that movement workers needed mental health support but faced a barrier in the form of cost. Thanks to donors and partners, Mind the Movement is able to address short term mental health needs through organizational crisis training, free and low cost therapy and supportive spaces and resources. The organization is also pushing for the long-term infrastructure needed to have mental health support built into campaigns and organizations.

Mind the Movement’s work is non-partisan and all contributions are tax deductible.

You are not alone

Please note Mind the Movement does not offer crisis support. If you’re experiencing a mental health crisis text or call the national suicide prevention hotline by dialing 988 or go here to find your local crisis hotline by tribe or county.
