Receive 1:1 mental health support:

Thanks to the support of our generous donors Mind the Movement is piloting a mental health subsidy and case management program in 3 states for 2026.

We’ve just opened applications for Virginia, with additional states to follow in early 2026. You can review our eligibility requirements and complete the application below.

Outlines of Michigan, Arizona, and Virginia

To be eligible you must meet one of these criteria:

You’ve worked on a political campaign of any party, in any role over the past year and are currently unemployed.

You worked for the federal government and have lost your role due to the cuts in 2025 and are currently unemployed.

You’re currently working at a grassroots organization* and either do not have insurance that covers mental health care OR your income is below the area’s median income (adjusted for family size).

AND

– You plan to work in your industry or a similar industry (e.g. democracy, social justice, government, political professions for the next two years)

-You reside in our current pilot program state of Virginia.

-You agree to complete occasional surveys for Mind the Movement to track the results of our pilot program

*We use the definition of “community organizers” as described by All Due Respect: someone who is doing the “day-to-day work of base building” to address injustices.

Here’s how it works:

After you apply and if you meet eligibility requirements your application will be reviewed by a member of our clinical team. They will notify you of your award notice and schedule an onboarding call to explain how Mind the Movement works and conduct an initial assessment.

Next, you select the licensed mental health care practitioner of your choosing. They will bill Mind the Movement directly, no funds will be sent directly to recipients or applicants.

You’ll have up to 12 months to use your entire subsidy. If you no longer need mental health support or are able to cover the cost of your own care, you can also decline any remaining amount we’ve allocated to you.

If you’re not eligible to receive the mental health subsidy, we can still support you in other ways, including hoping on a call and helping you find an affordable mental health practitioner.

You are not alone
